Picore

MOTHERHOOD (2001-2002)
November 2001_Lyon, France
A world has come to an end : windows in flames on a digital screen. Five young PEOPLE decide stop existing. They become Picore. INCARCERATED in the steam of an abandonned rehearsing room, they get into the creation of an already existing musical landscape. OUTSIDE, clearings, spaces liberated of any sense, bathtubes and delocated working areas become venues for the compulsive birth of an already existing visual landscape. Picore's members dismember each other to prevent the band from fissureing, while a musical ambition is born : help a baffle to deliver SWEAT (trip hop, abstract hip hop), SALIVA (rap, spoken word, screamings) and BLOOD (noise and industrial).

CHILD BIRTH (2002-2003)

Exhausted by Picore's extravagance, independant record label Jarring Effects decide to let go. On May 17th 2002, opening for High Tone in internationally acclaimed venue Pezner in Lyon, Picore let out its first babbling, yelling and groaning. In a jarring, strident and dissonant noise, the band pours out its very first tears in a few concerts in the row. After such a serie of revolvings, Picore takes off. Recorded on fall 2002 in Jarring Effects Studio and released in summer 2003, debut album DISCOPUNKTURE gets a true critical acclaim from both specialized press and audience.

CHILDHOOD (2003-2005)

The sequel was nothing but spasmophile flashlights: waving its live performance on a CELLOPHANE case, Picore hesitated. Videos, music et cramps for the control of an IMPROBABLE slide-slipping? Between PRIDE and ANGUISH, unstable, indecided, indolent, undisciplined, Picore hit the road for about fifty gigs and a certain pleasure to share the stage with, among others : The Young Gods, Dälek, Kaly Live Dub, High Tone, LTNo, Andrea Parker, Larvae, Ez3kiel, Bananas at the Audience, Punish Yourself, Brain Damage, Reverse Engineering, Général Dub, Doppler, Mary Poppers, Monsieur Orange, LÖbe radiant dub system, Hybrid Sound System, Red Bong, Binaire, Spade&Archer, Kabuki Buddha, B r oad way, etc.

ADOLESCENCE (since 2005)

Revigorated but not satisfied much, the band works its abdomen muscles. By the end of 2005, Picore records its second opus at the ABT Studio (Bästard). Mixed by Nicolas Dick (Kill the Thrill) @ TOG Studio, L'HÉLIUM DU PEUPLE , the sequel to Discopunkture.
